Body Shaming

BODY SHAMING- act of expressing humiliation about someone’s body. Everyone is aware of body shaming and might be targeted as well. I wanna ask you a simple question, “What is correct standard for a body?” Some might think being thin, fair looking, having proper height is the standard for a body. Now let me throw the next question towards you, “Who defined these are correct standards for a body?” Has someone written in a book that these are the correct standards for a body or God has told humans? We humans are responsible for this, someone impose their thought on you telling this is perfect and tells being overweight, skinny, dark is not acceptable. If you don’t find a girl beautiful because she don’t fit in your so called “body standards” doesn’t mean she is not beautiful. You need to change your perspective towards people and beauty.

Body shaming is all about first making you feel inferior of how you look and then make a business of that. Body shaming is done everywhere and by everyone right from your family, friends to media. Suppose you are person with dark skin tone and everyone teases you. The very next thing is you will start thinking that why am I like this? Next you will be exposed to media showing you the perfect skin color and how dark skin tone makes you ugly. You purchase the product and wait for things to happen but you forget that it is your original skin tone and it’s not going to change by using beauty products. Instead of that accept yourself for who you are, pamper yourself. You are beautiful the way you are.

The people who judge you as ugly are having dirty and ugly brains in real to think like that. Imposing tags on someone’s body is really disgusting. I know everyone of us must have judged people or imposed tags upon their body but we should stop that. Your words can affect someone badly, enough to depress that person. Everyone has different definition of beauty. Most of them think being fair, slim, good looking is beauty but a person’s inner beauty matters most and somehow we forget that. Everyone loves Black color things but when it comes to person you want a fair person, why so? People with black skin tone also have the same heart, they are not different. We humans have differentiated them and we need to stop this. There are all sorts of people around us right from skinny, overweight, short, too tall and we just crack jokes on them. Don’t judge anyone without knowing their story. Some characteristics are hereditary so they have to go through it.

I want to stop the people to judge others and start minding your own business. The people who are being body shamed just remember to love yourself first, don’t go outside for acceptance, don’t break your self esteem, have faith in yourself you are going to survive situations.
